This challenge is inspired by the incredible Castle to Castle Swim, a vital annual fundraiser for Pieta. The Castle to Castle Swim takes swimmers 13.5kms from Rindoon Castle on Lough Ree in Co. Roscommon to Athlone Castle in Co. Westmeath. People can participate solo or as part of a relay team.
The event is organised by the incredible people at Athlone Regional Sports Centre. All funds raised through this challenge go towards Pieta's lifesaving services.
This event raised more than €100,000 for Pieta last year with 160 swimmers taking part. Hats off to the organisers, fundraisers and support teams. This year we are expanding the challenge out to the whole country and all ability groups with our 13 Day August Swim Challenge.
